Historic England welcomed people in the North East to submit nominations for its new national blue plaques scheme.
It highlighted the stories of inspirational people from all walks of life, including those whose history had been hidden or forgotten.
The campaign featured key history influencer Dan Snow to help raise awareness of the campaign.
